How to Join

Thank you for your interest regarding membership in Indiana Mineral Aggregates Assocation.  I would like to take this opportunity to briefly explain what our organization provides to its members and some of the many benefits of membership in this Association.  Should you decide to join IMAA, we will follow-up by sending you a complete membership information packet for you to look over.

The Association office is conveniently located just north of Indianapolis in the Meridian Technology Park, north of 116th Street on North College Avenue in Carmel.  Our Association is able to interface with many state agencies such as INDOT, IDEM IDNR, and the Indiana Department of Commerce to name a few.

Currently, our membership includes over 40 producer members (about 175 plants and quarries) that produce over 90% of the aggregate in the state of Indiana.  Our membership roster also includes over 60 associate member companies that provide goods and services to these producers.

Many of our associate and producer members actively participate on IMAA committees, such as Aglime, Environmental, Legislative, Public Information & Education (PIE), Safety, and Technical.  They also plan workshops to keep members informed of the latest developments and/or issues in each of these areas.

IMAA has established a close working relationship with INDOT on matters concerning specifications, gravel usage as a highway surface material, aggregate certification, etc., via our Technical Committee.  If requested, we can provide monthly INDOT contract information to our members that include the latest letting advertisements and letting results.

IMAA is a member of Build Indiana Council (BIC), a coalition of seven construction-related associations that closely watch state and federal legislative issues especially relating to funding.  When issues arise affecting the construction industry, BIC takes action.  Members play an important role in this process by contacting their legislators and apprising them of the long-range consequences of the legislation under consideration.

In addition to BIC, IMAA is an associate member of the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana and Indiana Constructors, Inc..  We work together on issues concerning the highway construction industry.  IMAA also receives valuable information and support services from the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) on matters of national concern.

We schedule numerous workshops throughout the year, including the annual IMAA Winter Workshops.  In addition, an Aggregate Processing Workshop is usually held in conjunction with the workshops.  These two events attract crowds of 250 to 300 industry people.

If you have any questions regarding the association, please feel free to call me at 317.580.9100.  If you would like to receive a detailed membership packet, please click on the link below to receive yours.

Sincerely,

Robert G. Jones
Executive Director
