A Letter from Our Executive Director
REFLECTION, HEARTFELT THANKS, AND LOOKING FORWARD
IMAA Members,
I hope that this note finds you, your families, as well as your coworker families, well. I am appreciative of the opportunity to address the membership in this edition of the IMAA Source Report Newsletter.
Recently, my family and I were ladened with the passing of our father, Pastor David Lee. I don’t even know where to begin when speaking to the outpouring of love and compassion that the IMAA Membership and others within the construction industry, both locally and at the national level, showed toward my family and me. Although I thought I was prepared for the moment, I quickly learned that I was not. But the genuine concern and consideration afforded to me truly propped me up and helped to give me strength to endure these tough times. So, for that and much more, please allow me this opportunity to say “Thank You” — from the bottom of my heart and the depths of my soul.
Further, we’ve learned of the passing of Mr. Bruce Mason, the former IMAA Executive Director who predates my predecessor, Robert Jones. As I learned of the many wonderful contributions that Bruce made to this organization and the industry, it makes me feel even more honored to have been handed the keys to such a great association where I continue to carry the torch of service to the IMAA Membership and the Indiana aggregates industry at large. Grateful for the opportunity!
As we move forward, I trust that you have recognized our efforts to grow the levels of member engagement in IMAA activities, as well as our committees. Recognizing that the committees represent the lifeblood of the association, we have made concerted efforts to look deeper into member organizations to flush out early career professionals and mid-level managers who can truly benefit from the offerings and opportunities granted by the IMAA. This includes our Excellence in Leadership Program (ELP), Professional Development Committee, and much more. The growth being realized from these initiatives are paying immediate dividends and promises to have long-term effect on this organization’s success far into the future.
Thank you for all that you do in this industry, and I look forward to seeing and greeting all of you at the IMAA Annual Winter Workshops, February, 5-7, 2024.
