IMAA Fundraiser Golf Outing 2022
IMAA PIE Committee nets over $26k for outreach programs in 2022.
The Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association hosted its 29th annual Golf Outing on September 14, 2022 at the Eagle Creek Golf Club. Over 200 association producer members, associate members, and clients participated in the outing.
The winning foursome on the Sycamore Course was the team of Andy Sichting, Steve Conway, and Joe Czarnecki and his son, representing West Side Tractor Sales Company.
The winning foursome on the Pines course was the team of Ken Walschlager, Spencer Depoy, Jim Smith and Josh Clark, representing Rogers Group, Inc.
The annual Golf Outing is a fundraiser for IMAA Public Information & Education Committee (PIE). Proceeds from the Golf Outing go to fund the committee’s statewide aggregate industry outreach programs.
Public outreach to educators and youth.
The PIE Committee conducts the BLAST Institute for Indiana educators in conjunction with the Indiana Geological & Water Survey. The program provides hands-on activities about rocks and minerals in modern society. Teachers from kindergarten to high school can take these programs directly to their classrooms. Teachers participate in a full week of field trips to local mining operations, interactive seminars, and networking with industry experts to build relationships and a positive image of the aggregates industry. In 2022, the PIE Committee hosted 20 teachers at the BLAST Institute that became aggregates industry ambassadors by the end of the week.
The committee also hosts Mining in Society Merit Badge workshops for Scouts and participates in the Junior Achievement of Central Indiana’s annual JobSpark event for over 10,000 central Indiana 8th graders.
The Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association and the PIE Committee would like to thank all of the generous sponsors who supported the annual golf outing this year. Without the support of the sponsors, volunteers, and IMAA membership, the annual golf outing would not be successful in providing funds for the many outreach activities the Association coordinates every year.
