IMAA Hosts 2020 Winter Workshops & Trade Show

After a brief hiatus in 2019 for the NSSGA Annual Conference and AGG 1 Convention held in Indianapolis, IMAA once again hosted the Winter Workshops & Trade Show at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis from January 27th to January 29th, 2020.

The Winter Workshops welcomed over 480 IMAA members and guests over the three days, and featured 60 IMAA Associate Member companies in the trade show.  IMAA committees worked throughout 2019 to put together 7 different breakout tracks with 20 educational presentations and over 30 speakers.  During the General Session, IMAA members were welcomed by Indiana’s Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch.  After learning about the state of the State, members heard from Vicki Kitchin with the Build Indiana Council (BIC) on the state of road funding, its future outlook, and why BIC is important to the road construction industry. The General Session closed with a story of leadership from Bill Sandbrook, Chairman and CEO of U.S. Concrete. Mr. Sandbrook engaged the audience with his story of hard work, grit, and never-quit attitude.

During the Winter Workshops, IMAA members helped raise $3,060 for scholarships through the Indiana Mining and Mineral Education Program (IMMEP) silent auction and 50/50 raffle.
