INDOT’s Matt Beeson Promoted to Director of OMM

On Friday, October 11th, INDOT’s Deputy Commissioner of Construction Roland Fegan announced that Matt Beeson accepted the position of Director of the Office of Materials Management.

Matt joined INDOT in 2007 and has served as State Materials Engineer at Office of Materials Management for the past 4 years.  Matt and his team have focused on ensuring uniformity and quality of materials incorporated into Agency contracts by improving materials specifications and test methods, with the ultimate goal of providing the longest lasting materials at the lowest possible cost of ownership.

Matt started as an intern at INDOT in Crawfordsville District Testing in the summer of 2003, testing aggregates and asphalt, where he initially caught the materials and testing bug.  After starting full time in 2007, Matt served as Scoping Engineer in the Greenfield District, before moving to Office of Materials Management to serve as Assistant Asphalt Engineer and later Asphalt Engineer.

Matt was born in Central Indiana and grew up in Brownsburg, before attending Purdue University and graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering.  He currently lives in Cicero with his wife, Molly, and 6 children, Fletcher, age 9, Huxley, age 7, Bourne, age 6, Rhodes, age 5, Bloom, age 2, and Winslet, age 2 months.  He is a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds, Indycar racing, and used to enjoy playing golf (before he had 6 children).
